The dining room at Greenwich Village’s Little Owl is often crowded with burger hungry diners.
New York landed three spots in the top ten best burgers in the country, according to a ranking from TheDailyMeal.com, which surveyed the nation’s top chefs and food critics to come up with the country’s top 40 burgers. Coincidentally, the three restaurants all are located in Greenwich Village.
The highest ranked burger, landing the number-two spot on the list was the Black Label Burger at the Minetta Tavern at 113 MacDougal Street, the Char-grilled Burger at The Spotted Pig at 314 W. 11th Street followed closely at Number-Three spot. Also on the list in the number-five position was Bacon Cheese Burger at The Little Owl at 90 Bedford Street.
Many other New York burger joints made the cut, with Shake Shack landing the #1 spot in the overall ranking.
