Martha Stewart lends her stamp of approval to the opening of the Villard Michel Richard Restaurant at the New York Palace.
It is always exciting when a chef with an international reputation like Michel Richard opens a restaurant at a beautiful and iconic venue such as the New York Palace Hotel, a property that certainly lives up to its name having undergone massive renovations recently. Villard Michel Richard, as the restaurant will be known, will offer two different menus; a sumptuous tasting menu in the gorgeous Italian Renaissance-style Gallery and a more casual, bistro style menu in the Dining Room, where diners can peruse the fabulous wine collection through the enormous glass casing which is central to the dining space.
At the recent launch of his new undertaking, Chef Richard was in fine form, excited about the menus he has devised for both dining rooms, with food that will reflect the artistic and vibrant personality of the chef himself, all presented with a touch of his cheeky sense of humor. He was also thrilled with the work of the designer Jeffrey Beers, who has designed the restaurant interior to honor the space’s original features whilst incorporating contemporary elements that reflect the energetic personality of the chef.

The evening was a sparkling success, attended by many of New York’s arbitrators of good culinary taste, including Chef Daniel Boulud and the high priestess of All Good Things, Martha Stewart. Chef Michel Richard should be proud of the wonderful work he and his team have executed as Villard is the crowning jewel in the New York Palace Hotel and offers visitors an extraordinary dining experience that very few New York hotels or restaurants can match.
