If you’re looking for individual, but intricately combined flavors, texture that’s both crunchy and tender, an atmosphere that’s relaxed and comfortable, but still bustling and charged — then there’s only one place to go — TriBeCa’s Khe-Yo.

Keh-Yo’s delicious Mezcal mixed with Lychee, and Mint.
At this open and laid-back Laotian-inspired eatery, Southeast Asian cuisine brings a new flavor to TriBeCa. Executive Chef Soulayphet Schwader makes magic when he takes local, fresh foods and adds Laotian recipes and flavors. The menu items are designed for sharing and offers a great selection of different dishes, each with its own signature in either taste or texture. And while each is unique, they all interact perfectly. Each dish comes from Schwader’s family traditions, and were approved of by his mom as authentically Laotian. If that’s not authentic enough, they are meant to be eaten with your fingers.
Khe-Yo also offers a kiosk – Khe-Yosk, located right next to the restaurant’s entryway, which has caught on like wildfire. Between 11:30 and 2:30 p.m., you can choose from among two different sandwiches, for just $11. The sandwich options will rotate to coincide with seasonal ingredients. But get there early, they usually sell out within an hour!

The Long Island fluke and banana flower (Laap-pa) with fresh mint, kaffir lime leaf and galangal chips.
At our tasting, we were able to enjoy amazing dishes featuring fluke, beef jerkey, crunchy coconut rice balls, chili prawns, spare ribs, crispy sea bass and the curry beef special. Words can’t begin to describe how good it was! You need to experience it yourself. But you’d better make a reservation, word of this delicious destination is all over Downtown.
Khe-Yo is located at 157 Executive Chef Soulayphet Schwader, between Hudson St. and West Broadway. For more information, please visit www.khe-yo.com
